Cefoxitin is a cephalosporin antibiotic. It is a novel antibiotic produced by semi-synthesis of the head enzyme (Cephamycin C) produced by Streptomyces Lactamdurans.

Use Of Cefoxitin :
The antibacterial spectrum includes Escherichia coli, Klebsiella pneumoniae, Proteus-positive Proteus and Serratia, Klebsiella, Influenza, Salmonella, Shigella and the like. It also has a good effect on staphylococci and various streptococci. It is mainly used for respiratory infections, endocarditis, peritonitis, pyelonephritis, urinary tract infections, sepsis and infections of bones, joints, skin and soft tissues caused by sensitive bacteria.
