Cyclohexanone
Cyclohexanone, an organic compound, is a saturated cyclic ketone in which a carbonyl carbon atom is included in a six-membered ring. A colorless, transparent liquid with a earthy texture and a minty flavour when it contains traces of phenol. The impurities are pale yellow, and develop color with the storage time to form impurities, which are water white to grayish yellow.

Use Of Cyclohexanone:
Cyclohexanone is an important chemical raw material and is the main intermediate for the manufacture of nylon, caprolactam and adipic acid. It is also an important industrial solvent, such as for paints, especially for those containing nitrocellulose, vinyl chloride polymers and their copolymers or methacrylate polymer paints. An excellent solvent for pesticides such as organophosphorus pesticides and many other analogues, used as a solvent for dyes, as a viscous solvent for piston-type aviation lubricants, as a solvent for greases, waxes and rubbers. It is also used as a leveling agent for dyeing and fading, a degreaser for polishing metals, a paint for wood coloring, and it can be stripped, decontaminated, and spotted with cyclohexanone. The cyclohexanone is condensed with cyanoacetic acid to obtain cyclohexylidene cyanoacetic acid, which is then eliminated and decarboxylated to obtain cyclohexene acetonitrile, and finally hydrogenated to obtain cyclohexeneethylamine [3399-73-3]. Cyclohexeneethylamine is a drug. Intermediates such as cough melon and Temalen.
Used as a high boiling point solvent for cosmetics such as nail polish. A mixed solvent is usually formulated with a low boiling point solvent and a medium boiling point solvent to obtain a suitable volatilization speed and viscosity.
