o-xylene is a raw material for the fungicide rust-proof amine, tetrachlorophene peptide and the herbicide bensulfuron-methyl, which is used to produce o-methylbenzoic acid as an intermediate. Mainly used as chemical raw materials and solvents. Can be used to produce phthalic anhydride, dyes, pesticides and drugs, such as vitamins. Can also be used as an aviation gasoline additive.
